UPDATE...bc I haven't posted in a year

Summer 2011:

1. July 2011: Beaver, UT.  Jess took Crew down to Beaver for Pioneer Day.  Bridget and Tommy tagged along, because if I remember correctly, this lady had to work.

2. July 2011, Attended an *unofficial* Baldwin Reunion. We went up to Tyler Bye's family's cabin in Heber. HUGE cabin, TONS of people. It was fun.

Mr Crew was obsessed with using rocks as baseballs. scary.

Ivy Lou, Easton, Hannah, Olivia.

Chilling around the fire

I'm pretty.

3. August 2011:  Went up to Idaho to see Grandma and Grandpa Sparks. Visited with grandparents, aunt/uncle, cousins.  Good times.

Had a looong layover in Boise and had some fun at the airport.

Went on Papa's boat. Rode on the tube with Olivia, was afraid I was going to damage my spinal cord (dang, nursing).

Ran around and went to a pretty sketchy "zoo".

Fall 2011:

September 2011: Jess went back to school. (NOT me!)

October 2011:
Got a new car! 2007 Ford Edge. We love it!

Halloween festivities included crew throwing up in our new car, going to the ward Trunk or Treat,

Attended Haley and Tyler's annual Halloween party.

November 2011: Made a quick visit up to Idaho to visit family and then Thanksgiving spent at Baldwin home. Orem, UT.

Winter 2011

December 2011: Crew went to see Santa and was sooo excited to wrap his arms around him. HA! I could not restrain him enough. Christmas was spent in Orem this year.  I actually had to work a lot this holiday season, but I would rather pay my "dues" when Crew is little.  The overtime was nice though!  I was soooo tired on Christmas but it was a blast to watch Crew open up all his gifts  and get really excited. I also managed to make my mom's french toast bake. Delish!

We had a great time going up to Riverwoods shopping center. It was so incredibly cold, but worth it. Crew kept telling Santa that the fire was "hot".

His favorite presents BY FAR were the puzzles and the stacking blocks.

We got to talk to Elder Sparks and it was fabulous!
Elder Sparks and his companion got to have dinner with one of Jess's best friends, Aaron Lancaster.  His family lives in Henderson, NV where Tommy was serving. SMALL WORLD!!!
       Crew's 2nd Bday: Dec. 31, 2011
Crew is now 2! We had a birthday party with the family and mom ordered a
Yo Gabba Gabba cake per his request.

Taking a swipe @ the cake before we sang.

January 2012: Kind of a dull month. Laura turned 18! We had a surprise party for her. It was awesome.

Crew got to play in the snow and help make his first snowman.

February 2012: I got so so so so so sick. Spent Vday in the hospital. Boo.

Took a week's hiatus and traveled up to Idaho for Phoebe Faye's blessing. Got some fun bowling in. From that day forward Crew has been obsessed with bowling and continues to call bowling ball, "boinka ball". I turned 28 while we were visiting as well. WOW!

After the trip I went back to work, but then got so so so so  so sick again. Back to the hospital.

March 2012: Still sick....had surgery.  Mom came into town to help with Crew. Getting better. Sick again!!! Hospital again!!!

April 2012: Home again, no more hospital stays!

EASTER: He loved the concept of finding eggs or "eggies". He loves candy so of course he had a ball.
Sorry, Crew, no pic with the Easter Bunny this year.
After Easter, went back to work, moved out of our place in Provo and Jess tied up another semester.

May 2012: Still healthy :) Weather is turning "summerish". Working like dogs. House hunting!!! Jess working full time @ assistant mgr at American Eagle. Lacy still works at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab as an RN :) Phew! Any questions?

Total Boy

Jess has successfully molded his own "mini me". This kid is completely, 100% BOY.

We gathered up all his balls in the house and counted them. I swear I find a ball every time I turn a corner. In the picture there are 23. We probably have at least 5 more by now.

Playing with Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin's croquet set

Must have his precious balls wherever we go!

Gift from Grammy and Papa Sparks

Another favorite: his monkey backpack.

Alas, I had no success in getting him to be my girl for the day...

Spartan Run

Jess was such a hotshot and competed in the Spartan Run in Soldier's Hollow. The race is 8 miles long with multiple obstacle courses mixed in. He had never really run in any competitive race before this one, so he trained for a few weeks. Despite all the training, he said that nothing could have prepared him for it. The race started at 10:30 and he came into the finish line in between 12:30 and 1pm. Jess's parents and Laura came and I'm so grateful they did because I was able to get some fun pics while they were playing with Crew. It was such a hot day, we both got such bad sunburns bc I forgot the sunscreen (what's up with that, nurse Lacy?) Luckily, Crew had a hat and was underneath an umbrella pretty much the whole time so he escaped the rays. We were so proud of Jess when he crossed! Go, Babe!

Jess ran with some friends from work: (Left-->Right) Hunter Smith, Mark Stokes, Jess, Tyson Croft.

Getting ready...

It was hhhhooooooottt!

Jess crawling under the barbed wire. Some of the other obstacles were: rope climbing, spear throwing, rubix cube, running through mud, running through fire, etc...if you were unable to complete the obstacle you had to do 30 burpees.

Just ran through the mud pit.

Finished!

The crew after the race. The two on the ends finished ridiculously fast, so they already washed off when the others finished.

All clean: Hunter Smith, Jess, Cassadi Dente.

4th of July Week

My mom and sister, Olivia, came out to visit for the week of July 4th. We had such a good time! Family visits always go way too fast. Crewser loved having all of the extra attention. Im so bad at taking pictures when family is in town, so I don't have many with all of us together. For the 4th we went to a family BBQ at the Baldwin's home then we bought a bunch of fireworks to do later that night. We lit them off at an elementary school down the road from our house bc we aren't allowed to do them in our area, due to how close it is to the mountain. Crew had a blast. It started raining in the middle of lighting them off, so we cut it short and headed home. We also went to a BBQ in SLC and took a trip to 7 Peaks while my mom and sister were here. So fun! My house was too quiet after they left.

Crew, why must you always be so serious???

I took Crew down one of the slides and the lifeguard made me take off his shoes. The slide was SO not fun. It was one where you had to lay on your back in order to get the speed you needed. I had Crew on my lap so of course I thought, "I don't need to lay down". Anyway, I literally had to scoot my way down with a baby in one hand and some shoes in the other. I lost handle of one of the shoes. Jess said that when he saw the shoe he was expecting us any second. Well, it was more like a minute after the shoe did we come scooting down.

Las Vegas, NV

We took a trip down to Vegas in the beginning of May to see the area and also to visit some friends. It was sooo hot! I always thought that maybe Vegas could have been a place where we might end up, but I quickly wrote it off bc of the heat. We did have fun though!

On our way down we stopped in Beaver to see Grandma Baldwin and Max. It was a nice visit. We also stopped in St. George to see one of Jess's old mission companions (Aaron Mathews), but didn't get any pics.

This kid is so good. He was just peachy in the car on the way down.

We went down to "the strip" on one of the nights. Def NOT worth the crowds. It was gross. This pic was taken in one of the hotels. These two little gals were our biggest fans. They were such good sports putting up with another baby staying at their house.

The Bellagio fountains were by far the highlight. So pretty!

Took a day to do some swimming. It was opening day at the pool, so the water was coooold.

Our friends have a pool, so naturally we spent lots of time out there: The boys enjoying Otter Pops.

We decided to leave to go home in the evening and drive through the night. Not the BEST idea ever. We seriously struggled, but made it nonetheless.

RN, BSN: UVU Graduation

I wrapped up my looong journey of nursing school on April 29, 2011. Talk about exciting! It feels great not to have homework, projects, clinical hanging over my head any more. I have been in school for so long, it really feels so weird, but I am grateful for a break! I love being able to spend more time with Crewser and because I am done, that means Jess can now finish up!
