I don't like getting big

Ok, so to catch up with some of our August/September milestones:

We had our 2nd Anniversary on August 16th. Jess and I splurged on a new sectional because we totally deserved it for being married 2 years and all :-) I hope you like the lack of decorations on the wall...I am officially boy-cotting decorating due to my indecisive attitude. I already got sick of my pillows I made in my last post.

And even though I keep telling my husband that I really don't care for flowers...I secretly do and I was so happy when he got them for me.

Jess turned 29! Happy Birthday to Jess! We went out to Los Hermanos with a bunch of friends and then had a family party for him.

His lovely wife gave him a Braves hat and a cool preppy vest...he thought I was going to be lame and just get him a tie.

This is me at 24 weeks...I look freaking huge!!! It's disgusting actually...gaining "good" weight is a mental mind warp and I don't like it at all. On the good side though, the babe is alive a kicking (literally)and I only have 16 weeks to go (ONLY 16...how much bigger am I seriously going to get?).

We also started school about 3 weeks ago and life is already crazy! I just finished my labor and delivery rotations at the hospital and was really disgusted and not looking forward to getting all liquidy when my turn comes...gross.

There's a FIRST for Everything...

This week was full of firsts:

-My FIRST time making stuff for my house! My lovely friend Lyndsey helped me make some pillows for my living room. Although the seams and lines are not straight AT ALL, I still love them! I bought this really cute canvas material at Joann's and covered some pillow forms. Here they are:

I covered the back of the pillows with a tan color:

I also made a wall-hanging for above my fireplace. I saw this idea on HGTV where you stretch material over a frame made of 2 x 4's. Don't judge the rest of the mantel...I'm not done yet :-)

-My FIRST time being 20 weeks pregnant! We find out in one week what we are having!

-My FIRST time buying maternity clothes. They are not officially maternity shirts, but just bigger sizes. The Shade store at the mall was having a good sale! I got all these cute shirts for 10$ each.

-My FIRST time having a 2nd anniversary! I love you babe!

With all of these "firsts" I did have one HUMONGOUS LAST....my LAST day at the BYU Bookstore! "WHAT?!?" I know...crazy. It was about time to move on. It was a wonderful place to work for all of these years. I met so many wonderful people who will be my life-long friends. I love you all :-)

*Update*

This is me at 19 weeks. I finally actually believe that I have something growing inside of my body (weird). Although I haven't felt the baby kick yet, I guess everything is going well because I am getting rounder, gaining weight, and the baby's heartbeat is nice and strong! I don't know why, but I am so very anxious that things are not going to go right and there is going to be something wrong. It stresses me out so much that when I go to the doctors office my blood pressure is sky-rocket high! I have to start calming myself down before appointments, otherwise I will probably be put on bed-rest at 20 weeks..haha. We have our ultrasound in 2 weeks so I think once I see that everything is good to go, I will feel more at ease. ANYWAY, for those of you who are interested in seeing me get larger: hope you enjoy :-)

This is Jess at 19 weeks. Its been really stressful for him too...he's taken to eating for the three of us to cope.

We BEAVED it up!

Last weekend we spent some time in Beaver. Every summer the Baldwin family gets together for a reunion on the 24th of July. This year, however, there was no formal reunion planned, but we went down for the day and camped out for a night. We started out the day at the Beaver parade which really is one of the funnest parades for kids. The parade participants throw out a TON of candy and the parade ends with the famous fire truck that sprays everyone with water. Later that night be got to camp and I'll be honest, the highlight was definitely roasting hot dogs and making Rolo smores (Haley and Tyler's creation). It was a fun weekend. Next year I'll be camping with a baby...weird.

Here are a couple of pics of us hanging out in our Beaver sweatshirts.

Much needed VACATION

Last week we were so lucky to take a much much much needed vacation!!!! (Oh my gosh, you really have NO idea how much I needed it). First we drove up to Vancouver, Washington to stay with Jess's brother Casey's family. They were so great (especially Linsdsi) for driving us everywhere and feeding us a ton! We also got to see our friends Cam and Josie while we were up there. Cam owns a bunch of Little Caeser's Pizzas and he was SO NICE to let us come into one of his stores and actually make our OWN pizzas. We also got a chance to drive over to the coast and visit the beach which was not a warm beach by any means, but still fun nonetheless.

After Vancouver we left to go to Coeur d' Alene to visit my family. We were there for a few days pretty much celebrating the existence of my brother (not the I minded...I LOVE that kid). We got to see Tommy graduate high school and get his Eagle Scout award. I am so proud of him! To seal the deal, the family took the 4-wheelers and motorcycles up the mountain for an all-day riding extravaganza. I was really nervous for Jess to ride anything, but he really did well!

The vacation was a lot of fun, but the driving WAS NOT. Thankfully, Jess doesn't mind driving long distances...I just had to put up with listening to ESPN podcasts on the radio...which I probably would have taken the option to drive and listen to country music instead if it was given to me:-)

Swimming at Lindsi's parent's house. Casey, Jess, Cam, and baby Baylee.

We took a walk in downtown Portland. With shopping and dinner included. Out cute nieces Brooklyn and Olivia.

Oh...our nephew Cody...he liked the sand at the beach a little too much :-)
See...told you it was cold.

Our nephew Nathan...he kept his Uncle Jess busy ;)

Story behind the video: While playing in the waves I noticed a little circular sea creature that was breathing out of the sand when the tide was in. I thought that it was a sea anemone, but boy was I wrong. Jess took the shovel and started digging deep in the sand to find out what it was. The deeper the hole got, the bigger the creature got and I was terrified that it was an octupus or something, but the shovel kept making a "cracking" noise when it hit the object, so I figured it was some shelled-humongous-gross sea creature. It....... was a clam with a really big tongue. HA HA. And it died from a shovel slashing to the neck. Poor clam. Jess is a killer.

Making the pizzas at Cam Gentry's Little Caeser's Pizza

The Graduate :-)

The Eagle Scout :-)

4-Wheeling in Horse Haven. I think it was in Coeur d' Alene.

He got major dirty....

At the top of the mountain: Dad. Jess. Tommy

Whitney had to stay in the car most of the time because Payton was napping and it was freezing!

The CUTEST baby!!!!! And my most favoritist MOM.
