New York New York New York New York

So here we are in Cheektowaga (right outside of Buffalo) New York. Let's just say that the area is just as interesting as its name. Jess and I decided to try out the whole APX alarm sales for the summer. We got here last Saturday after three days of horribly long driving. We actually drove through nine states to get here: Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York! We had horrible rain passing through Nebraska and Iowa with even a couple of Tornado warnings, but we made it and we are finally here!!!

Jess started pre-season sales on Monday and has had some pretty "interesting" experiences with the people here. It's kind of a frusturating because it seems that everyone here rents and does not own a home, but we will see what the official season brings. (It starts tomorrow).

As for my life here...I have been applying for jobs at the local mall just to keep myself busy. I am lucky that my sister Whitney is here. She keeps me company :-) We are trying to explore the city to find grocery stores, gas stations where gas costs less than 3.78/gallon, and a Superwalmart. (Which by the way NONE exist). Buffalo is sooooo different from Utah...I can't even explain it, but I am trying to stay positive.

I had a funny experience at the grocery store though:

As I was loading my groceries into the car, and an old black lady kind of crossed my path and stared at my car with Idaho license plates.

She asked, "Girl are you from out of state? Because there are way too many digits on your license plates to be from here."

I answered: "Yes. I am from Utah actually."

We were just chatting about what a long drive it was, and then she said:

"Girl, you gonna have beautiful kids because you got a lot of love."

I answered: "Thank you!"

Then she finished up the conversation with saying that the thing that makes beautiful kids is love.

~I thought that was cute :-)

Anyway, that's our life so far!
