Officially Official

as of June 30, 2010 I became an officially licensed registered nurse. yessssss! man that feels good to say! I took the NCLEX-RN on June 29 at 8am. i was a nervous wreck...i couldn't sleep a wink the night before. i drove up to draper with definite hope that i would at least pass, but i really did not know how long it would take me. the max amount of time is 6 hrs. for those who do not know how NCLEX works, the minimum number of questions you are tested on is 75...the max is 265. depending on how well you do (or how awful you do) the computer will shut off anywhere in between these numbers, once it has decided you are "minimally competent" or "not competent". I really really wanted only 75 questions. i get really tuckered out during long tests. as a was answering the questions, I thought to myself..."ya, I think im doing ok....wait, was that the answer...dangit i can't go back...what was that drug used for again....i have NEVER heard of that disease before...etc. well, question 75 came, i clicked "next" hoping for my test to end, but it didn't. question 76 came....and went. boo! question 77: answered, submitted, and "BAM" the computer shuts off. *phew* what a relief. i walked out of the testing center feeling pretty good about my test, but then the wretched self-doubt came...what if i clicked "c" on all the answers when i meant to click "b"...what if i failed pretty much all of my 77 questions and the computer deemed me "inadequate"...etc.

i found out i passed the next night. i looked up my name on dopl, and sure enough i saw..."Lacy Jean Baldwin, R.N" right in front of me. what a glorious day. i have to admit, i am pretty dang proud of myself :-)

Woohoo! Quite an accomplishment considering all the other stuff you've had going on. Way to go.
