1 year old cake is NOT that great!

We forgot all about the top layer of our wedding cake that we had stored at the Baldwin's house...OF course we had to try some, but much to my disappointment is was super gross! I wanted it to be good so bad because I didn't get to eat any at our wedding, but oh well...I had Jess take me to Baskin Robbins instead :-)

Jess's Birthday...

...the BIG 2-8!!!! Jess had his 28th birthday on September 6th. We had a BBQ with family and some friends while we watched the BYU-Washington game. We got a Dora the Explorer pinata for the kids, and just had fun hanging out. Jess is an amazing guy. If you don't know him--you should because he is for sure worth being friends with! He does such a good job of taking care of me, working full time, going to school, being the funnest uncle ever, etc...I love him :-)

My Spiffy Scrubs...

...are so dang comfortable! I just thought that I would post this picture of myself before my first clinical. I was SO NERVOUS, but it ended up being awesome and not as bad as anticipated. My clinical group went to the Heritage nursing home and I got to help out on the rehab floor where old patients and working back up to an optimum health level to go home. I always thought that all old people were nice, but BOY was I wrong...turns out some of them HAVE to have their tissues in certain places and refuse to tell you their sons' names because "you don't even know them." haha...so I am learning not to get my emotions involved too much. For the first two weeks of school I was overwhelmed, but now things are falling into place and I am excited that I decided to do this!

Jam Packed to the MaXx

Did I mention we are traveling?

Tonight we are driving to Lexington, NE...about 5 more hours...tomorrow we have a ten hour drive and then we will be home! The drive has been pretty uneventful, besides the fact that I thought we were going to die (well, maybe not die, but def. messed up). I was driving at this time probably going 75, and in THE MIDDLE of the road there is this medal crate thing just hanging out. It had fallen off a semi who was in front of us. There were cars in the other lane so I couldn't get over, so I hit the breaks! AND they even made that horrible squealing sound. I pretty much came to a complete stop on the FREEWAY...I thought we were gonners and were going to get hit from behind, but luckily someone was watching out for us and there were no cars to the side and no cars behind when I stopped. We hit the metal thing but not very fast, so our car has a mark a little smaller than a frisbee. I guess I should be grateful for scratches and not a huge dent or a broken window...or body for that matter!

To celebrate our anniversary we are driving home! Fun huh? We did manage to stop in down town Philadelphia to see a couple of cool things...and oh, run the "Rocky Balboa" Steps in front to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and eat some Fabulous Pizza.

1 year down...

...and a whole bunch to go! Jess and I celebrated our first year anniversary yesterday, August 16, 2007! We can't believe that a year has already gone by! I am so happy that I have someone who treats me so well, and will do anything for me! (It's hard for me not to take advantage of him sometimes hehe..j/k) Here are some highlights of our first year together:

1. We moved into our first Apartment and experienced our first cranky neighbors.
2. Went through 2 cars because of Jess's insatiable appeptitate for pretty,shiny, fast toys.
3. Experienced was it is like to go to school together: double the homework, double the stress, and double the cost!
4. Lacy was made a sports fan, and Jess was made a family man!
5. Went to Idaho for Christmas to be with Lacy's family.
6. Went on a snowmobiling trip to Daniel's Summit courtesy of True North Academy
7. Packed up, and moved to New York 32 hours away from our bubble.
8. Jess sold his hieny off selling APX alarms, while Lacy got to handle urine for her job haha...
9. Driving back home to Utah after 35$ dollars in tolls (I hate tolls!)
10. Starting the cycle all over again for year #2 hopefully with a couple fun things in between the business of it all!
