Religious Item Project

For my "Religion in the Home" class at BYU I made an item for my home that I would use in my life and more specifically for my future family. I decided to make a "Baldwin Family Treasure Chest". In this treasure chest I made a series of children's flipcharts: "How Dad met Mom", "Families can be Together Forever-Sparks Family", "Families can be Together Forever-Baldwin Family", "Latter-day Prophets", "What do I Believe?", and "What am I?" These books took me over 20 hours to make...sheesh, but I am glad I did them. I hope that these books will be useful for my children in them learning more about their family heritage and their religious heritage as well!

I am an auntie...

...again, but this time it really counts because its my sister who made me one for reals. My amazing sister gave birth to her first lil baby yesterday February 24, 2009. Her name is Payton and I love her! Whitney had a pretty awful time getting her here, but I wont spoil her post so you'll have to read the story on her blog. Whitney did absoltely amazing and I am so proud of her! Thanks for giving me the cutest niece...and she will love me because I will be her favorite babysitter :-) I won't post a picture until Whitney does so she can show her pride and joy herself!

P.S. Can I just say that my mom is in town as well and I love having her here! Love you mama.

Happy Birthday to Me!

I turned 25. And that is Old.

And I even have a wrinkle

I miss my bed

I miss my bed because I can no longer sleep in it. I can no longer sleep in it because I have to sleep in the living room. Our living room is so messy and I am suprisingly too tall for the couches (I know--a miracle). This is what our basement looks like:

Yes, we are messy--but I swear we are not THAT bad. Let me explain...My inlaws have had a plumbing problem with their kitchen sink. With multiple days of not being able to use the dang thing we were wondering just when it was going to be fixed. After coming home for the day last week, I noticed our bed was wet--and no it wasn't Jess who caused the accident. There was actually WATER coming through our light fixture from the upstairs kitchen pipe that busted! So the nice plummer men came over and told us that our mattress was pretty much a biohazard (luckily we get refunded from the insurance company). They also ripped out the ceiling and the walls! So, this is why I miss my bed. P.S. Does this post remind any of my old Glenwood roomies of something ;)

The long cement walk to the bathroom

Our poor biohazard room...I miss my bed.

Warning: this is NOT an exciting post.

Sorry for the lack of posts lately...I really have nothing "blog-worthy" to report on this post either. This last month has already been super busy with school, but ironically enough, I have still have not gotten into it! I am having the hardest time sitting down and getting my work done...maybe because I truly am burnt out...I have been in college for a LIFETIME it seems and I won't be done until 2 LIFETIMES are over :-) So whenever I actually do something fun, I'll let you know.
